This is PACHELBEL FOUR.ZERO
PACHELBEL FOUR.ZERO is a participatory digital project for anyone who plays a musical instrument or sings! The focal point is the famous “Canon in D” by Johann Pachelbel, one of the most well-known melodies ever. Surely you’ve already heard one of its many recordings, edits, or adaptations.
Perhaps you did not know already, as this surprises many others, that Johann Pachelbel (1653 – 1706) not only was born in Nuremberg, but also worked in his native city for most of his life, up to his death and burial there. That’s why we, the Nürnberger Symphoniker, led by chief conductor Kahchun Wong, and BR-Klassik chose to pick up his widely known tune and, together with you, turn it into the musical ambassador of our hometown.
We can only do this with your help! We want to know: PACHELBEL FOUR.ZERO – what’s your tune? Whether you simply play the canon or invent a decorative melody, it’s all up to you. Of course, you can also use your voice. There are no limits to your creativity: the more colorful, the more unusual, and the more inventive the result, the better! That’s how your contribution’s chances will increase to earn a place among the Top 20 and to be featured at “Sternstunden Gala” in BR Television.

fun – and in the best sense of the word. For every video that is sent in, we, or the Stadtsparkasse Nürnberg will donate 40 euros to Sternstunden e.V., a non-profit association that supports projects and institutions that care for children with chronic illness, disabilities, and special needs. Since its inception, with the help of Sternstunden e.V., over 220 million euros in donations have been collected.
And in case you like to accord a little bit of/some cash for that purpose on top of your creative contribution:
